It's hard to know which kuo-toa is more disturbing. The original Fiend Folio diaper-wearing kuo-toa, with its child-like wackiness , which always seemed so out of step with the Lovecraftian pulp-goodness of the amphibious, fiend-worshipping creeps described in the D-series modules and the Fiend Folio...
Or the new Kuo-toa illustration. My wife saw it and swore his thumbs were out pointing to his chest. She looked at the picture and said, "who has two thumbs and a fish face? This guy!" She also found his tunic disturbing.
